Foods With Low Carbs Are Definitely The Way To Go
An introduction to the subject of low carbs
As we all hear day in and day out, the idea that low carbs can help a person loose weight and make them healthier is constantly being questioned. There are many studies done on an almost regular basis that either lend credence to or negate the claims that are made by manufacturers and the developers of all the diets that claim that a diet with low carbs is the right answer to those who are overweight. Some for the most recent studies that have been done regarding low carbs have also pointed to the fact that eating smaller meals throughout the day as opposed to fewer, but larger meals is more beneficial to your health.
Eating more frequent meal with low carbs
One study that was done recently reported that frequent meals actually reduced appetite by 27 percent.
The study entailed two groups of healthy men, one that had a large breakfast and then nothing more to eat until five hours later. The other group of men ate the same amount of food as the first group, but ate in hourly for five hours. After this each group was given all they could eat for dinner and the group that had eaten over the course of the five hours ate less across the board. In addition to that, the men that ate hourly also had better insulin and blood glucose levels. For those of us on a diet that concentrates on low carbs , it would probably help to stagger our meals throughout the day as well.
The bad news is that not all doctors would readily agree with the idea that more frequent meals featuring low carbs throughout the day is all that beneficial. For instance, a study done in Milan, Italy found that out of 3350 cases of colorectal cancer, 13 percent of them were caused because the individuals ate frequent meals staggered throughout the day. Although this does sound quite scary, we have to add that two or more cups of coffee per day actually have a protective effect against this type of cancer. There are many things to consider when going on a diet that concentrates on food with low carbs!
