Scalloped potatoes anyone?

Here is a dish that is on the table at many a festive occasion- minus the carbs! They are ideal examples of the low carb recipes you should be looking for.

Combine the evaporated milk, hot water, and the flour in a saucepan and cook over a low heat. Add salt and pepper and stir constantly until the sauce thickens.

Peel the potatoes, slice them, and boil until tender.

First place a layer of potatoes at the bottom of a 2 quart baking dish, then sprinkle a layer of the grated cheese, then pour a layer of the white sauce. Continue this way until all ingredients have been used. Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Ahh...Stuffing sans the carbs

Add the onion and half the water together in a large skillet and cook for 5 minutes.

Add the celery and the mushrooms and cook over a medium heat until the mushrooms start to brown.

Mix in the bread and all spices and continue to cook on a lowered heat for 3 minutes.

Stir in the remaining water little by little until your dressing is the moistness you like.

Spread this on a greased baking dish, cover, and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Remove the cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
