Carbohydrate Counting

Carbohydrate counting has its time and place, but it's not the whole story!

We Are Not Saying That Carbohydrate Counting Makes You Annoying, But...

... wait, yes we are.

Sorry. But it's kinda true.

You don't know how other people perceive you because you are wrapped up in your own little world. One in which you are trying whatever you can to lose weight, which is a really nice thing on the surface. Good for you. We are very happy that you are going to the effort. Just stop the damn carbohydrate counting in public and for God's sake talk about something else from time to time. You know, the weather. Baseball. Some chick you are seeing but who doesn't want things to get too serious because she just got out of a bad relationship. Whatever it is, it's fine. Just give us a break from the incessant carbohydrate counting!

Plus, carbohydrate counting is only one part of a diet!

It's a fact here, Jack. Or Jim. Whoever you are. It's but one of many steps.

You are not going to lose weight strictly by counting those carbs and making sure that you do not eat too many. All you are going to do by doing that is reduce your carbohydrate intake, which may cause momentary weight loss, sure, but is not about to be the end all or be all of your diet. When it comes to losing weight and being a healthier being, carbohydrate counting only goes so far. You will have to exercise in addition to any plan that you put in place and having the energy to actually work out will require you do eat a certain amount of carbs. Thus the Catch 22. So don't sweat the small stuff. It's all about the whole body of work.

With the wonders of carbohydrate counting, you have to get a little caught up in it at first. We understand how tempting that has got to be. But come on. You surely are smart enough to know that a few fewer carbs isn't everything!
